About Me

Hi there! I’m Lorna and from a very young age animals have been my passion.

At age 15 I started working in my local pet shop in Hawick and have been hooked ever since.

After my brief stint in pet sales, I began training at Oatridge Agricultural College. Here I gained extensive experience working with and caring for dogs, cats, livestock, rabbits, guinea pigs, rodents, birds and exotics. This is where I obtained my HND in Animal Care.

Since then I have been working in the animal welfare and animal health care sectors. Starting off in the Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home I worked as a Kennel Assistant. I then moved onto Hillside Animal Sanctuary in Norfolk and then from there I went onto PDSA (Veterinary Charity) in Edinburgh where I studied and gained my Level 2 Diploma for Veterinary Care Assistants. My most recent job was working at Edinburgh University Small Animal Hospital as an Animal Care Assistant dealing with many species of animals in a busy referral hospital.

For over 20 years I have cared not only for my own pets but also for all the animals I’ve worked alongside (which funnily enough you never forget). I’m in my happy place when I’m walking and you can feel safe knowing your furry friend is in experienced hands.
